A couple of weeks ago, we covered reports which revealed a general Brazilian dissatisfaction at the Paris Saint Germain squad.
Right after the club lost to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League, a story came out saying the Brazilian players were not happy with manager Unai Emery, who also didn’t like the strong influence they had on the team.
And now that the French side have been eliminated from the Champions League, and the manager’s contract is not being renewed, it’s time for the players’ plan to be revealed.
As reported by website UOL today, the Brazilians have started this chat with club director Maxwell in November. They were already unsatisfied with Emery by then, and suggested his replacement with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti or Luís Enrique, as both were available in the market.
Since Maxwell is Brazilian, UOL heard that this chat was friendly. The former left-back is said to be the link between players and the club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
The problems with Emery come from the start of the season. First because of Neymar’s fight with Edinson Cavani to see who would take penalties, then for Lucas Moura’s lack of chances to play, then Neymar’s dissatisfaction with the manager’s pre-match videos, and finally a disagreement between Neymar and Emery in a training session.
Although Neymar seems to be involved in most of the problems, UOL’s first story claimed that the Brazilian star had been quiet about all this, leaving the communication for other friends who have been in the squad longer.
Besides Neymar and Moura, who has now moved to Tottenham, but was part of the problem, PSG also have the Brazilians Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Thiago Motta in the squad.
Quite a strong clan to rebel against the Spanish boss.
