A few days ago we covered claims from Turkey that Newcastle United’s DeAndre Yedlin was set to complete a move to Galatasaray.

At that point it was stated his move would be announced to the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), i.e. the stock exchange, in the coming days.

That happened over the weekend, and Yedlin took a private jet out to Turkey to complete his exit from Newcastle United.

Given his contract expires in the summer, and how reluctant Turkish clubs are to pay transfer fees, the likelihood is that he’s being released from the remaining months of his deal with the Magpies.

Fanatik report Yedlin took a private jet to Istanbul on Sunday and has now arrived. Picked up overnight in a private vehicle by Gala officials, he’s expected to go through the routine of finalising a transfer.

Once that’s done it will be a reasonable amount taken from Newcastle’s salary expenses, perhaps helping Steve Bruce with any deadline day recruits.
