With the Premier League giving Bruno Fernandes the Player Of The Month award, we could only expect the Portuguese media to give big coverage to it today.

Most newspapers such as Correio da Manhã, O Jogo and Record celebrate the fact that he’s the third Portuguese to ever win this prize.

Bruno Fernandes now follows Cristiano Ronaldo, who won it three times for Manchester United, and Deco, who despite being born in Brazil, has played for the Portuguese national team and was awarded one in his time at Chelsea.

O Jogo highlights the fact that Bruno only needed three Premier League games in February to win the prize, and says it confirms his great start at Manchester United following other awards he’s had from the club and PFA.

Newspaper A Bola points out another interesting achievement for Bruno, which is the one of being approved by Manchester United legends.

Given the reputation that former club players have abroad, they take it as a big thing that the likes of Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes have all been praising the Portuguese midfielder. It’s also said the player has ‘conquered the hearts’ of the ‘demanding’ Manchester United fans.
