On Thursday, Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca spoke to the Brazilian media, and made sure to feed the rumours of a transfer to the Premier League.
The player not only confirmed that he wants to move to England in the summer, but also answered a question about Liverpool and Manchester United interest in him, talking the situation up.
The Portuguese newspapers have only covered this interview today, and each of them has a different take on the story.
Starting with O Jogo, they’re going with the recent claims. They say that in the interview, the player hasn’t confirmed the offer from Manchester United, who have already shown Benfica their intention to pay €40m for him.
But Record has the opposite information. According to their sources, the Red Devils will not make any kind of offer for Talisca. That’s how they put it, plain and simple.
Given all the time we’ve been covering this saga, plus this unreal amount mentioned by the Portuguese press, we’re going with Record here.
Benfica are looking to get as much money as possible for Talisca, and given Jose Mourinho is on record as being a fan, Manchester United isn’t a bad place to start.
