Sporx report Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza wants to sign a contract extension with the Turkish club.

Souza’s deal runs out in 12 months and this week he’s been linked with a move to Wolves.

The Turkish website report that although no talks have taken place regarding the player’s extension it’s expected this will happen after the club’s presidential election on the 3rd of June.

Fenerbahce are hoping their hand will be strengthened if they manage to tie him down for another three more years and not risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Yesterday, we covered reports from the Turkish press that Wolves are showing an interest in Souza, ten months after their rivals West Bromwich Albion came very close to signing him.

It’s reported Wolves are prepared to offer €12m for the former Brazil international and have contacted Fenerbahce. However, just like Souza’s contract situation, Wolves will have to wait until after the elections to hold talks with the Yellow Canaries.

Now being a Premier League club, Wolves will find themselves increasingly linked with players around contract renewal time.
