Wolves A Bola July 18thAt the end of June, the Portuguese and the Spanish press reported that the former FC Porto manager Juan Lopetegui was set be appointed at Wolverhampton.

The official announcement is taking a while to be made, and whilst A Bola still insist there’s something in those claims, they also name three players who are set to join Wolves for the next season.

Two of them are from Benfica: the winger Hélder Costa and the defensive midfielder Pelé. Both of them have been on loan during the last season, and as they are not part of the club’s plans, they’re ready to move on this summer.

The third one was also from Benfica, but after a loan spell at Monaco, he ended up signing permanently for the French club for €15m last summer. That’s Ivan Cavaleiro, a 22-year-old left winger.

A Bola doesn’t say how much Wolverhampton will pay for them, but make it clear that Jorge Mendes, the agent of Cavaleiro and Costa, is helping to build the English side.

The newspaper also claims that other Portuguese names are set to show up at Wolverhampton after the change of management happens.

The takeover may be happening from China, but Wolves fans should keep an eye on Portugal.
