Earlier this month, the Argentine media reported Chelsea have made advances in their pursuit of Aaron Anselmino.

DSports Radio state the west London club are edging closer to completing a deal for the Boca Juniors player.

It’s claimed the centre-back has been ‘sold to Chelsea’ for $18m [£13.97m] plus $4m [£3.1m] bonuses.

As part of the deal, the Blues have agreed to allow the 19-year-old to continue at Boca Juniors until the summer of 2025, with an option to recall him in December.

This is backed up Olé, who provide more on the operation to take the defender to the Premier League.

It’s claimed the Argentine club received a formal offer of $18m from Enzo Maresca’s side, which was ‘impossible to reject’. The only factor that had stopped the deal was Chelsea’s desire to take the player immediately.

The Blues finally gave in to Boca Juniors’ request to have Anselmino until June 2025, and have an option to cut short his stay at the end of this year.

Olé add the youngster will travel to England in the next few hours to undergo a medical and sign his contract with Chelsea, and then return to Argentina.
