Throughout Adrian’s time at West Ham he was linked with a move to Real Betis, without anything ever coming to fruition.
Born in Seville, the goalkeeper had come through the ranks with his local club, appearing for their C and B teams before making the big time and playing for Betis’ senior side. He left them for West Ham in 2013 and ever since there’s been reports of a return.
The 34-year-old’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season, and whilst there’s a possibility to extend the deal for another campaign, Spain’s Fichajes report Adrian ‘will not continue at Liverpool’ and will therefore be looking for a new club.
Unsurprisingly, that’s where Betis come in.
Should he move to the La Liga side on a free transfer there’s a possibility he’d initially be back-up to Claudio Bravo, with the 37-year-old having another year of contract at Betis after this season.
That may not be a deal breaker, with it stated everything indicates Adrian wants to ‘retire’ at Betis and have a few successful seasons there first.
