There’s a couple of Everton updates from Italian journalists on Monday afternoon, and one of them inevitably involves Allan.
The midfielder ‘only wants Everton’, reports Alfredo Pedulla, and is willing to wait for a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Sunday saw Spanish newspaper Marca claim Atletico Madrid are prepared to pay €40m for the Brazilian, although it didn’t feel like a strong report.
Borussia Dortmund were also thrown into the ring, yet there’s nothing in their local media about Allan interest so the chances are they’ve been pulled into the story by Napoli, as a way to put pressure on the Toffees.
Pedulla says Allan ‘says no to everyone’ apart from Everton, which could scupper Napoli’s plan to hype interest from others. The Serie A club are still said to be holding out for €35m plus €5m in bonuses, a figure they’re probably going to have to come down from.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports Everton are still insisting on Allan, and he states Ancelotti is also keen on Alessandro Florenzi. The AS Roma owned 29 year old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, can play at right back, left back, and in midfield.
Everton will ‘make an attempt for him’, says Di Marzio, and are also in contact with Watford for 27 year old midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré.
