The Daily Jerry Mbakogu.
Gazzetta di Modena says Mbakogu is currently waiting to see what’s going to happen with his future, and it’s once again stated the option of a Leeds United transfer hasn’t been ended.
The striker isn’t joining up with Carpi for preseason, a joint decision between Mbakogu and the Serie B club. Both parties want to move on, and that’s how they’ve been planning for several months.
Carpi’s owner Stefano Bonacini is still said to be in contact with Leeds over the transfer, despite repeated denials coming from Yorkshire.
There’s every chance this is a situation more to do with Andrea Radrizzani, rather than others at Leeds. That’s because it’s been pointed out more than once than Carpi have confidence there can still be a deal because it’s Italians negotiating with Italians, and it’s hoped they won’t go back on verbal assurances.
That hasn’t proven to be very fruitful so far.
Leeds United are said to be ‘in no hurry’ and ‘it seems’ there’s no other clubs coming forward seriously for Mbakogu right now.
