Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui has rejected a move to West Ham United, as he wants to wait for Manchester United to move for him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say West Ham have been handed a blow in their pursuit of the full-back despite striking an agreement for him.
FM report that Mazraoui has agreed to leave Bayen this summer and West Ham were the first club to make a real move for him, quickly reaching an agreement with Bayern for a €19m deal plus bonuses.
However, that has not happened, and the transfer is actually far from being completed as the Moroccan international does not actually want to join West Ham.
Instead, he is prepared to bide his time and wait for other offers and is waiting for Manchester United to potentially make a move for him.
They’ve been interested in some time, and he wants to see if they ‘will take action’ on the matter and make a concrete effort to get him. Juventus are also admirers and both destinations would be more appealing for him.
For Manchester United to step forward, though, they first need to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Juventus would also have to part ways with several players.
That makes the matter a complex one, even though Mazraoui has made Manchester United his priority and ‘concrete negotiations’ are underway.
