Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has taken ‘explosive’ steps after being denied a move to Manchester United this summer.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Frenchman is frustrated after reaching an agreement in principle with Manchester United over the potential transfer.
The newspaper explains that after Bayern received a rejection from Kyle Walker last week, the man who they had eyed as a replacement for Pavard, they informed the French international that he was not for sale.
That’s left Pavard frustrated as he wants to leave and a few hours after that occurred, he ‘caused a stir’ by liking comments on Raphaël Varane’s Instagram post following Manchester United’s win over Wolves on Monday.
He wants a change of scenery this summer and had previously been promised as much and his actions on social media are being perceived as him sending signals to those in charge at the Allianz Arena.
Indeed, BILD state that he could be ‘forcing his departure’ by repeatedly signaling to those in charge that he would rather be at Old Trafford.
If that were to happen then Manchester United would have to ‘significantly improve’ their first offer, which has already been rejected.
That bid was around €29m but Bayern want at least €45-50m for the player, a figure United aren’t going to reach unless they can finalise the sale of Harry Maguire.
Then could the Pavard poker get underway again, although as far as they’re concerned in Germany, he’s already taking ‘explosive’ actions to try and force things along.
