Crystal Palace’s potential move for Juventus youngster Matias Soulé may have stumbled before it started as the player has suggested he’ll be remaining at Frosinone in January.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who cover comments from the player today and about his future at the Italian club.

He joined Frosinone on loan in the summer in search of regular playing time away from Juventus and has found that, putting in a series of impressive performances with seven goals and one assist in Serie A so far.

That’s led to increased speculation about his future, with several sides in the Premier League said to be monitoring him and thinking of a move in January.

Crystal Palace are one of them, with several reports indicating that they are keen and ready to make a move for him.

Indeed, a report four days ago continued that and made it clear that they were leading the race for his signature and were serious about a move.

That does not appear to have been passed on to Soulé, though, who seems to believe he will be staying where he is for the time being.

“I think so, I will stay until the end of the championship,” he said when asked if he would be staying with Frosinone in January.

That pours cold water all over those Crystal Palace rumours for the time being, then, and it remains to be seen what happens next.

What should be said is that there is nothing definitive in those comments for now and there’s still plenty of time for things to change, particularly if Palace do make a definitive move.

That does not appear to have happened as yet, though, and this long-rumoured transfer isn’t moving anywhere for now.
