Dani Ceballos to Arsenal now looks pretty likely, judging by growing claims in Spain on Tuesday.
First it was AS who reported the midfielder is a ‘step away’ from joining the Premier League club, having previously been thought closer to Tottenham. Then Marca added to that by saying Arsenal are in ‘advanced negotiations’ and want the signing done ‘this week’.
They explained Unai Emery is the man behind the plan, something which suits Ceballos, with the player also being keen on the idea of the club as a whole and on moving to London.
Arsenal would have to cover all of his €3m a year wages on a loan basis, and there’d be no buying option.
Mundo Deportivo now join the transfer chorus and report Ceballos is ‘about’ to join Arsenal on loan.
They echo Marca’s claim that all that’s needed is for Real Madrid to give the final OK for the deal to be completed. Arsenal have agreed to all the loan conditions, and this one is again presented as a transfer which could happen pretty quickly.
