On Boxing Day, L’Equipe reported that Timothy Weah was closing in on a loan move to Celtic, with his playing time at PSG restricted and not looking like it will improve soon.
The move was ‘expected’ to happened and Weah felt ‘inspired’ to join the Scottish Premiership club.
Brendan Rodgers and his assistant Kolo Toure had both held talks with the young striker and the words left a good impression on the PSG player. In addition, Odsonne Edouard’s adaptation and progress at Celtic had been a big factor.
December 29th’s edition of the same French newspaper reports that Amiens have also been interested in signing Weah, but L’Equipe again state he’s ‘expected’ to sign for Celtic on loan instead.
Rodgers has already spoken about the player and what a good transfer it could be for all involved, and this one just looks a matter of time before the final details are confirmed and a move announced.
Amiens are moving on to other targets, including Gael Kakuta.
