Celtic’s Hyeon-gyu Oh is keen to seal a move away from Celtic this summer after playing ‘too few’ games under Brendan Rodgers.

That’s according to Het Belang van Limburg, who report that the player is currently in Belgium to undergo medical tests and complete a move to KRC Genk.

The newspaper reports that Oh has been the number one target for Genk this summer as they look for a new attacker to strengthen their squad.

Negotiations with Celtic have been ongoing for some time, but a breakthrough is now in the making and Oh has indicated he would like to move to the Cegeka Arena.

He moved to Celtic from Suwon Bluewings last summer but endured something of a frustrating season with the Bhoys after a shin injury hampered his start in Scotland.

The signing of Adam Idah on loan from Norwich in January also pushed him down the pecking order somewhat and he pretty much ‘disappeared from the picture’.

His feeling is that he played ‘too few’ games under Rodgers and now wants to move on and join a club where playing time is guaranteed. That is why he is keen on the move to Genk.

He hopes to revive his career in Belgium and sees potential in a collaboration with Thorsten Frink, having watching him launch Heung-min Son’s career at Hamburg.

Thus, a deal is now progressing and he’s in Belgium to undergo a medical and then sign the documents to finalise his move from Celtic.
