Not for the first time recently, Sami Khedira has dropped hints over a potential move to Everton.
The midfielder has been pushed completely out of the picture at Juventus and hasn’t appeared for the Turin club this season. Andrea Pirlo clearly isn’t a fan of the player and hasn’t included him in the squads eligible to play.
Inevitably, that’s seen talk of a move in the January window, with Everton repeatedly pushed forward as an option. Not only are the Toffees seen as a possibility, but they’ve been edged out in front of other potential suitors.
Khedira has spoken about his future recently, and referenced a good relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, a manager he worked with at Real Madrid.
He’s now done the same again, speaking to German newspaper Bild.
He was also pressed on whether a move could happen quickly, with the January window opening soon, and he made clear that’s a real possibility: “I am open to a new sporting challenge. I’ve had a hard time and want to play football again, fighting for three points week after week. That’s what I long for. If that’s at a club other than Juve, I have no problem with that.”
Juventus will surely be interested in any offers during January, and may well allow Khedira to move for free given his contract expires next summer.
