For some unknown reason, it appears that Steve Cooper wants four right-backs at Nottingham Forest this season.
We say this because the newly promoted side have already signed Neco Williams from Liverpool and Giulian Biancone from Troyes this summer, and are going after Djibril Sidibé and Serge Aurier, both free agents.
The deal for the former was said to be close on Wednesday, with a few details left to be sorted, while it was pointed out that the latter had also received an offer from Nottingham Forest.
Well, Foot Mercato, who also reported the Sidibé information, now claim that Aurier has ‘given his agreement’ to move to the City Ground.
A free agent following the end of his Villarreal contract, the Ivory Coast international ‘should sign for Nottingham Forest if his medical goes well’, returning to the Premier League a year after leaving it.
Regarding what this means for Sidibé, a deal for Aurier ‘doesn’t necessarily put in doubt’ the move for the Frenchman.
The idea here, if we were to guess, is due to the fact that the ex-AS Monaco man can also play left-back, which is a position Steve Cooper also wants further bolstered before the end of the transfer window.
🚨Info: Serge Aurier 🇨🇮 a donné son accord pour rejoindre Nottingham Forest.
