Manchester City are keeping tabs on Real Betis’ Dani Pérez, according to multiple claims from Spain.

Manuel Pellegrini handed the 17-year-old his first senior start in his side’s 3-0 win over HJK Helsinki in the Europa League tie on Thursday.

AS highlights this in a short report today and then add the midfielder aims to meet all the expectations that are placed on him by the La Liga side. He also has the confidence of the Chilean coach.

It’s then further explained the player is followed by both Manchester City and Real Madrid.

This detail about the Premier League winners and Los Blancos is also reported by Marca, who state the teenager is ‘wanted’ by the two clubs. The report adds that Pérez is being ‘closely followed by both Pep Guardiola’s side and the European champions.

Pellegrini has been observing the Spain U18 international’s evolution from the pre-season and handed him his debut against HJK Helsinki, and a month ago, the player signed a new deal until 2025.

According to Marca, Real Betis handed Pérez a new contract because they have ‘great hopes are pinned’ on him, with the young midfielder also receiving backing from Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.

It remains to be seen whether Betis will be able to hold onto Pérez if Manchester City or Real Madrid were to make an offer for him, but for now, he will need to focus on keeping his performances up at his current club.
