Bareclona B were relegated from the Segunda División after they finished 20th in the table. This forced the Catalan club to show Gerard López the exit door and they replaced him with Javier García Pimienta in April.
The former Barcelona academy graduate has been tasked to improve their B team next season. On Tuesday, the La Liga winners confirmed Juan Brandáriz has committed his future to his current employers by signing a new contract.
Mundo Deportivo now claims several players from Barcelona B team will follow Brandáriz’s footsteps and sign an extension later this week. These players are fundamental for Garcia Pimienta’s side as they look to bounce back after a disappointing 2017/18 season.
One of the players to sign a new deal is Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez, commonly know as Monchu. The 18-year-old was a transfer target for AFC Bournemouth this summer. Earlier, another report from Mundo suggested the Premier League club had held several meetings with the midfielder’s camp and were close to reaching an agreement.
Today’s edition of the Catalan newspaper claims that Monchu has “already rejected an offer from Bournemouth” as he wants to extend his stay at Barcelona by signing a new contract.
This one looks over.
