If all the news that Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Martin Ødegaard wasn’t enough to make you believe the deal is happening, perhaps the player’s absence from Real Madrid training on Wednesday will.
Multiple reports have suggested the Norway international is on his way to the Emirates in the near future, with some in Spain going as far as claiming the deal is done and all that’s left is for the move to be made official.
Until that happens, there will be doubts, but Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday explain another indicator the deal is close is the fact Ødegaard wasn’t at Real Madrid’s training session today.
They explain that’s because the midfielder ‘is about to be transferred to Arsenal’, and he ‘remains unseen’ at training ‘as he is closing his exit and no one wants to take risks in the form of an injury’.
A smart move from all involved, as it would be just the Gunners’ luck if he’d decided to take part in a farewell session only to end up hobbling off hours or days before his medical to complete the transfer.
