AFC Bournemouth have entered the chase to sign Juventus’ Dean Huijsen this summer.

That’s according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, who says Bournemouth chief Tiago Pinto is leading the Cherries pursuit of the defender.

Pinto ended his three-year spell at AS Roma in February, and returned to the game in May when Bournemouth appointed him as their new managing director of football.

The Portuguese signed the centre-back on loan for Roma in the winter market. Huijsen featured regularly for the Serie A side this year, which has seen him attract interest from clubs across Europe.

Pedullà says ‘these are very hot days’ for the 19-year-old’s future. Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with interest but haven’t taken the necessary steps to sign him.

In recent days, both VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg have initiated contact to sign the player. Bournemouth are now added to this list, mainly because of their director.

The Premier League side have made contact and requested information about signing the Spain U21 international.

The journalist claims Juve want at least €25m for the youngster, who ‘would very much like’ to go to England in this window.
