José Mourinho’s arrival at Tottenham Hotspur got big coverage worldwide, although very few outlets had genuinely exclusive information about the move.

An interesting story we found on Thursday comes from Brazil, where website UOL says Lucas Moura is excited about the change.

It’s claimed the winger expects to have more playing time, or even become a starter for Spurs, since Mourinho has long been an admirer of him.

UOL recalls that the manager tried to sign Lucas twice. First at Real Madrid in 2012, as revealed by agent Wagner Ribeiro, and then to Manchester United in 2017. The Red Devils’ attempt was reported by Sport Witness at that time.

UOL reports that according to people close to the player, his relationship with Mauricio Pochettino had been ‘worn out’ in the past few months.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that Lucas was benched for the Champions League final, even though he had been the hero in Spurs’ qualification against Ajax.
