While Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici will undoubtedly be looking for players to gift Antonio Conte this month, the director of football is also looking beyond the current season.

That’s what Calciomercato.it are reporting on Tuesday, claiming Spurs are taking an interest in Stefan Posch, currently contracted to Bologna in Serie A.

The Austria international, who is a centre-back by trade, has also been ‘performing admirably’ as a full-back when required, recently scoring his second goal of the season against Udinese.

Signed on loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions of €5m, it’s stated that his value has ‘at least doubled’ since then.

That means that ‘€10-12m will be needed’ from Tottenham if they want to ’snatch him from Bologna’ next summer.

Spurs are mentioned at this point, and it’s added that Paratici has ‘set his sights on the Austrian’ to bolster Conte’s defence.

There would be some competition from Juventus, who could have an advantage on Tottenham, as they could ‘use the Cambiaso card’ in negotiations for Posch, in that they could allow him to extend his loan there for another season, thus sweetening any deal with Bologna.
