Barcelona were successful in beating AS Roma to the signing of Malcom and the winger arrived at Camp Nou from Bordeaux in the summer.

Since joining the La Liga winners, the Brazilian has come on as a substitute in the last six minutes against Real Valladolid and featured for 19 minutes in his side’s defeat to Leganes.

Journalist Miguel Rico, writing for Mundo Deportivo, explains the situation in Tuesday’s edition of the Catalan newspaper and he claims the 21-year-old is unhappy with limited game time.

After the ongoing international break, Ernesto Valverde’s side will face Sevilla, Inter Milan and Real Madrid in the next two weeks and Rico claims the matches this month will be important to gauge the player’s situation.

Barcelona’s general manager, Pep Segura, has already suggested the attacker will get minutes and it is now to be seen whether the former Athletic Club Bilbao manager will feature, or whether a lack of opportunities would mean that Malcom would request to leave the club in January.

Earlier this month, it was Mundo’s Rico who reported the wideman was the club’s signing and was not requested by Valverde. Should there be any truth in these reports, it is unlikely that Malcom’s situation would change anytime soon at Barca.
