The Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and Celtic tonight is a subject in the Hondurian media, where people have their eyes on national team winger Luis Palma.

The 23-year-old has been picked by Brendan Rodgers for all of Celtic’s games in the European competition so far, and could help them get a good result in Spain.

Futbol Centro America today brings quotes from Don Enrique, Luis Palma’s father, who is very excited about Celtic’s match this evening.

The player’s dad was interviewed by Visión 45TV, and said he has high hopes after speaking to his son ahead of the Celtic game.

“Today, if it’s not an assist, it’s a goal. He says to me: Papa, when you give me my words of encouragement, I try to follow the advice you give me,” said Enrique Palma.

Featuring for Celtic this season, Palma has five goals and four assists in 14 appearances. He scored a goal in their last Champions League match, when the Hoops had a 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid in Glasgow.

The Hondurian winger arrived in Scotland in the summer, following a €4.75m move from Greek side Aris Saloniki. He’s been managing to have a positive start so far, and tonight’s match will be crucial for him and Celtic to stay alive in the Champions League.
