Espanyol’s Raúl de Tomás has not received any approach from Arsenal so far, a source has told Sport Witness.
Last week, reports coming out of Spain indicated the Gunners have identified the 27-year-old as one of their striker targets, after Dušan Vlahović snubbed them to join Juventus.
On January 26th, Mundo Deportivo reported the north London club have reactivated their old interest in De Tomás, but Espanyol have no intention to let him leave in the winter market, if his €70m release clause is not triggered.
When approached later that day, a source told Sport Witness Mikel Arteta’s side have not showed any interest in the Spain international.
Earlier on Monday, AS stated Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s potential move to Barcelona can open the door for Arsenal to make an approach for the Espanyol star on the deadline day.
However, Sport Witness understands, that at the moment, there is ‘no interest’ from the Premier League side to sign De Tomás on the last day of the January window.
The attacker has 12 goals and two assists from 21 league games this season.
