At the end of April, Le10 Sport reported that Newcastle United are a suitor for Nice’s Malang Sarr. A month later, we relayed news from Turkey that Fenerbahçe have joined the Magpies in chasing the centre-back.
Steve Bruce’s side get a mention again now, along with West Ham United and other clubs in FcInterNews’ report about the 21-year-old.
Inter Milan are in the market looking for a left footed centre-back and Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla is their first-choice target.
The Nerazzurri are also studying other targets and Sarr is among them. Federico Pastorello, who represents Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Candreva and others, is managing Sarr and he proposed the player to Antonio Conte’s side.
According to the report, Lazio is ‘hottest club’ in Serie A, when it comes to chasing the transfer. However, ‘in the background’ there is competition from the Tyneside club, Davies Moyes’ side, Lyon and Eintracht Frankfurt.
If Newcastle, West Ham or any other club want to land the player, they will have to meet the defender’s demands of a ‘high salary’ and ‘at least’ a four-year contract.
Sarr’s contract with Nice expires this summer and with no transfer fee to be paid, the likes of Newcastle or West Ham should be able to meet his two demands.
