Futbol Arena report Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim wants Garry Rodrigues to remain at the club, but will listen to the right offers. Which sounds very much like a normal negotiating tactic.

Yesterday it was claimed in the Turkish media Newcastle United are lining up a bid in the region of €23m for the Cape Verde international, basing their approach on how Everton got Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.

According to the Turkish website Terim wants to keep his star player at Galatasaray next season with the club on the verge of Champions League football.

It’s reported if Terim allows Rodrigues to leave this summer then the Turkish league leaders will only accept offers of €25m upwards, otherwise the 27 year old will remain in Istanbul.

Following yesterday’s reports it seems Newcastle United would have to offer another €2m to sign Rodrigues in the next transfer window.

The Premier League side have already had two bids rejected by Galatasaray in the last two windows, and will have to offer significantly more this time round. But what Newcastle will know if that there’s going to be negotiation games at play, and they certainly won’t want to pay over the odds.
