Thanks to their impending takeover, Newcastle United are being linked with players around Europe.

A lot of it will be speculation based on assumption, yet there’ll also be agents trying to build transfer deals, aware of the likely new riches the Magpies will have.

One of the players linked over the past couple of weeks has been Adrien Rabiot. He signed for Juventus last summer on a free transfer, and was working his way into prominence just before the Covid-19 crisis hit football.

Juventus would make a full capital gain if they sell him, and that could help finance other transfers they have their eye on for the next market.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports the player’s agent has spoken to Everton and Manchester United, and the newspaper then moves to Newcastle United interest.

It’s claimed the club are ‘ready to offer the richest contract’ in order to tempt Rabiot to join them instead. Gazzetta states ‘watch out for Newcastle’s money’, and it’s another example of how the club’s takeover is being taken seriously when it comes to transfers.
