Newcastle United’s interest in Atletico Madrid fullback Renan Lodi seems to be scaring other clubs who want the Brazilian this summer.
A report from Tutto Mercato Web claims that the race is now ‘complicated’ for Juventus, given the Magpies’ competition for the player.
The Italian website writes that the Newcastle are going ‘strong’ for the 24-year-old, and are now ready to offer around €25m for his transfer.
The report adds that Lodi is the ‘first name’ in the Magpies’ list to reinforce their left-back position, with the club looking to ‘make a market of the highest level’ in the coming months.
Newcastle’s interest in Lodi had already been reported by the Spanish media last month, with Mundo Deportivo claiming the Magpies want to make a ‘strong investment’ in the payer this summer.
One of the Premier League side’s strong arguments to land the fullback is the big friendship he has with Bruno Guimarães, as they used to play together at Athletico Paranaense in Brazil and are friends to this day.
