Over the past few weeks, various claims from the Spanish press have repeatedly stressed Ousmane Dembélé has received an ‘astronomical offer’ from Newcastle United.
It was also explained the Magpies are ready to offer the Barcelona player a net salary of €15m per year plus an additional €15m as a signing on bonus to join them on a free transfer next summer.
The winger’s contract expires in 2022 and the La Liga side are keen to retain him beyond this season. Sport on Tuesday reported it’s ‘key hours’ for the 24-year-old’s future at Barca.
Despite the approach made by the Tyneside club and others, the France international is not in favour of leaving the Camp Nou. He ‘does not want to hear about a departure’ as the player has ‘indeed chosen to extend his contract’ at Barcelona.
Dembélé is yet to come to an agreement over a new deal with Xavi Hernández’s side. His entourage is ‘still keen to listen to offers’, but the attacker is ‘absolutely unwilling to leave’ Barcelona.
This will not come as good news for Newcastle, who have already made an ‘astronomical offer’ to the Frenchman.
