Wesley Moraes was keen on staying at Aston Villa for this season, but after being told regular game time would be hard to come by, he joined Club Brugge on a loan deal late in the summer window.

The striker’s decision to return to Belgium hasn’t gone as per the plan as he has been restricted to six appearances in all competitions, which includes only one start. He has been on the pitch for 31 minutes since the end of September.

Het Nieuwsblad now state it is ‘almost certain’ the Villa owned player will leave the Jupiler Pro League side in the winter market as he is now ‘looking for the exit’. The Brazilian has already featured for Aston Villa this season before arriving at Club Brugge.

The newspaper states he cannot be loaned out or soled to another [Western] European club. Therefore, the attacker has turned his attention towards his own country, where a new season will start from 2022.

It’s claimed ‘three clubs are in the running’ to sign Wesley. They are Sáo Paulo, Palmeiras and Internacional. 

Het Nieuwsblad explain Sáo Paulo have submitted a ‘concrete proposal’. However, the Villa man hopes to join Palmeiras, who won the Copa Libertadores, after defeating Flamengo in the final last month.
