As Newcastle United are said to be in a strong position to sign the Montpellier midfielder Ryad Boudebouz, his recent form is really something that will convince the club’s board to go for him.
According to reports from L’Equipe (via L’Expression) last month, the Magpies’ promotion to the Premier League could be followed by a transfer, as Rafa Benítez is already aware of the player’s skills.
Olympique Marseille are the other side who have been showing power to get the transfer done. So despite the competition from clubs such as Villarreal, Celta de Vigo, West Bromwich and Everton, those are the two clubs who should battle for him in the summer.
Newcastle have already been linked to Boudebouz for a long time and it’s no wonder why their interest is still on: the player was involved in five goals in the last five league games..
Boudebouz doesn’t seem very concerned whether he’s staying or not, as in recent talks with the African press, he said: “Regarding my future, I don’t think about it yet. I’m happy to finish this season and then we will evaluate it calmly”.
But the player has a contract with Montpellier running until 2019, and the club aren’t really keen on letting him leave. That’s why the bids for the 27-year-old will need to be quite convincing.
