Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez has become the centre of speculation in Italy as Juventus have emerged as a rather prominent suitor and everything related to the Turin club is magnified.
However, Newcastle United’s interest still doesn’t go away. ViolaNews report there is a key meeting about Gonzalez today and it will involve both Juve and Fiorentina.
La Viola will put forward their demands and Juve will then decide if the terms are favourable to them or not.
Juventus seem to be a more probable destination than Newcastle. Even in the recent past, we covered a report from La Nazione which pointed at the Magpies’ offer for Gonzalez, but no developments have occurred on that front at all.
That meeting today will be crucial, because if Juventus don’t give in to Fiorentina’s demands then it opens the door to others, such as Newcastle United.
La Viola would almost certainly rather sell elsewhere anyway, with bad transfer blood between them and Juventus going back to the 1990 riots when when Roberto Baggio was snatched away from the Florence club.
