Germany boss Hansi Flick has heaped praise on Brentford, hinting that their success this season could be beneficial to the likes of Vitaly Janelt and Kevin Schade and their international futures.
The Germany boss has been speaking to Sky Germany, relayed by Sport 1, during which he was full of praise for the work being done by Brentford.
They’ve been impressing in the Premier League again this season, currently sitting ninth in the table with 50 points from 34 games so far.
They are very much still in the race for a place in the top six, with only four points separating them from Tottenham in sixth.
It’s a remarkable achievement for a side who are only in their second season back in the top flight, with smart transfers and a superb structure elevating them above sides who have spent considerably more.
Their success has not gone unnoticed, with them regularly held up as an example of how things should be done by clubs who aren’t mega rich, or state funded.
He’s now discussed that and offered hope to the pair of featuring for their country under his leadership.
“We watched some games, I was there with Danny Röhl, my co-coach. He did the football trainer course, passed successfully, and was then again for his football trainer internship at Brentford – with Janelt and Schade,” he said.
“This is a club that does very, very well in the Premier League. With the resources they have at their disposal, they are playing very successfully.
“The coach is doing an excellent job. I was there once. It’s all about the football there. It’s fun to talk to them. That’s one thing that’s good for us as well.
“We are in many stadiums every weekend,” he added about Janelt.
“It is important for us that the player can implement the idea we want to play. He does it well, Vitaly does it very well.
“He is one of the leading players there. We had a chat with his coach. You just have to say playing like that in the Premier League is great.”
