We’ve all had periods of our lives where it seemed like absolutely nothing was going right and for defender Mamadou Mbaye, now is such a period.

In case you’re not aware, the defender finds himself in the middle of a legal battle between Watford and Cádiz at present after his move to Spain last summer.

The Hornets complained to FIFA about the switch, saying he had joined the Spanish side without permission.

This was backed up by the governing body, who subsequently banned Cádiz for two transfer windows, blocked Mbaye from playing for four months and ordered him to pay compensation to Watford.

Both he and Cádiz have appealed the decision, with the player even claiming that any documents linking him to Watford were false.

They have to wait for a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, however that has not stopped the bad news coming in.

AS report that the Senegalese defender ‘suffered a severe injury’ on Friday when he fractured his fibula during a training session.

That’s left his future even more ‘complicated’ with him now set to be ruled out for a as yet undetermined period.

It’s another ‘hard blow’ for Mbaye who ‘accumulates the problems’ of late according to the newspaper.

With the ban hanging over him, and his future at Cádiz in the air, he seems to be adding obstacles on ‘his way to fulfil the dream of becoming a professional soccer player.’

He’ll be hoping that CAS rule in his favour, otherwise his return from injury is unlikely to be a joyous one.
