There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Middlesbrough are showing an interest in FC Bodrum midfielder Yusuf Sertkaya.

Michael Carrick will be looking to add to his squad ahead of next season and the 18-year-old has emerged as a target for the Championship side.

Yeni Asir today report Middlesbrough are looking to sign Sertkaya in this transfer window and have tabled an offer of €1.75m with Bodrum. It’s claimed a decision whether they will accept the offer will be made next week.

The player has recently been in Ireland representing the Turkish U19 team in the Euros.

There are no reports if Boro have been in direct talks with the youngster over personal terms.

Sertkaya only signed for Bodrum from Bursaspor last summer and stand to make a tidy profit after paying just €175k for the player.

He started 23 games in his debut season in the Turkish second tier, helping Bodrum to promotion the Super Lig. The defensive midfielder is contracted to his club until June 2029.
