Middlesbrough are making a late attempt to bring a player in from Ligue 1, according to claims coming from France on Tuesday evening.
RMC report the Championship club are in advanced contacts to sign Younousse Sankharé from Bordeaux.
Talks haven’t yet reached a conclusion and RMC negotiations will continue into this evening to try and find a solution which can get a transfer over the line quickly.
The player is said to have been looking for a way out and Bordeaux would facilitate a transfer if it then helps them get their own transfers in, which explains why they’d be trying to come to an agreement with Middlesborough tonight.
Younousse Sankharé is a 28 year old left footed midfielder who can also play at left back, so would bring some versatility into the Middlesbrough squad.
There’s no explanation yet over what any fee would be or indeed the structure of a transfer, which could initially be a loan with it now being so late in the window.
