There’s been a lot of rumours surrounding the future of Salomon Rondon, who has just one year left on his contract at West Bromwich Albion.
The Venezuelan forward spent last season on loan at Newcastle United in the Premier League, where he enjoyed himself under Rafa Benitez.
Unfortunately, the Spaniard will be leaving his role in the next few days when his contract expires, and while a return to the Magpies has been touted and moves have been made to that end, it hasn’t gone to plan so far.
Mediotiempo explain Newcastle recently had a £9.4m bid rejected from the Baggies for Rondon, and the outlet claim the target man ‘will continue his career’ at West Brom.
This information came after the 29-year-old was loosely linked with a move to La Liga MX, where Cruz Azul were labeled as a potential landing spot, but he has ‘no intention’ of going there.
Marseille in France have also been reported as being interested, but seeing as they have to sell before they can spend (and they haven’t sold anyone yet), they aren’t exactly a threat to Newcastle.
There’s still hope, but Mike Ashley might have to open his wallet a little mo…ah, who are we kidding? He won’t, will he?
