Tottenham’s move for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is set to be finalised in the next few hours after his medical passed by without a hitch.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say it was a case of ‘medical visits ok’ for the player after he underwent them ahead of the move.

They report that the player’s transfer to Tottenham from Empoli is ‘being defined’ and he is set to move to the Premier League in a deal worth €20-25m.

The final figure will be defined and dependent on bonuses that will be triggered during his time in England, with three of them very attainable and two linked to Tottenham winning the Premier League among other things.

Medical examinations have already been undertaken and passed and it is simply ‘bureaucratic practices’ related to his arrival in England that are holding up the move being finalised.

That includes obtaining a work permit for the UK, which is now a non-EU country since Brexit and thus has different rules than previously.

Either way, the transfer is in the final stages now that his medical is done and the goalkeeper should be a Tottenham player sooner rather than later.
