Turkish sides Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray seemingly believe they can get Pierre Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham for as little as €12m this summer.
That’s at least the latest information from journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who says the Denmark international’s asking price is significantly lower than it was a year ago.
He reports that the Turkish duo remain keen on Hojbjerg, who is likely to leave Tottenham after barely featuring under Ange Postecoglou this season. He is also in the final year of his contract, meaning Spurs need to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free.
At that point he was considered too costly, but the journalist insists that now his asking price has dropped to €10-12m.
That, though, sounds like optimism verging on delusion as far as we’re concerned, with Tottenham surely not valuing him that low.
While he may not be a part of their plans and only have a year left on his deal, the midfielder is still well thought of and has been putting in some impressive performances at Euro 2024 too.
That is surely something Daniel Levy will be well aware of, and it seems unlikely he’d be offering such a low price around, even if Hojbjerg only cost €16.6m in 2020.
Given reports elsewhere have regularly put the asking price closer to €20m, the Turkish duo may be wise to alter their ideas if they are keen on a deal.
