Hugo Lloris missed Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Watford before the international break due to injury.
The goalkeeper was initially included in France’s squad for the fixtures against Germany and the Netherlands, but Didier Deschamps confirmed a ‘small muscle problem’ has forced him to miss the two games.
RMC Sport claims the north London club’s shot stopper is struggling with a thigh problem, which ruled him out for the UEFA Nations League. He was at the Stade de France for Les Bleus’ World Cup celebration and the Spurs custodian has already returned to the English capital.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will host league leaders Liverpool in the next league clash and the 31-year-old appeared on RMC Sport’s show, Footissime on Monday to provide an update on his injury situation.
“If I have a date of return?” Not yet. Work hard to get back and as quickly as possible. There may be a chance this weekend, but we will see according to the progress of the week,” Lloris said.
The former Southampton manager started Michel Vorm in his side’s defeat to the Hornets and if the Frenchman makes himself available for the selection to face Liverpool, it will be a massive injury boost for Spurs.
