Earlier today, we carried a report from Sport, who claimed Chelsea star Eden Hazard has emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona. He has already been on the radar of Real Madrid, so this was completing the big Spanish pair.
The La Liga winners are also after the Belgium international’s club teammate, Willian. If the reports are to be believed, the Blues are demanding €80m to part ways with the Brazil international.
Chelsea failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League and Antonio Conte’s future almost certainly lies away from Stamford Bridge, although he’s not been shown the exit door yet. Maurizo Sarri, himself in a contract tangle with Napoli, is expected to replace him at the west London club.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo now claim Sarri has ‘placed a condition’ with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to take charge at the club. He wants the Blues not to sanction the sale of Hazard or Willian in the summer transfer window.
The report claims it is difficult, but not impossible, for Barcelona to sign Willian because of the conditions made by Sarri to the Russian billionaire. Both Willian and Hazard’s current deals at Chelsea will run down in 2020.
