Everton new manager Marco Silva is bringing a new addition to his staff, according to reports from the Portuguese press this Monday.
As written by newspaper Record, the Toffees are hiring Bruno Mendes, a performance analyst who used to work for Portuguese giants Benfica.
Bruno Mendes was responsible for the creation of Benfica Lab, a department from the Lisbon side which is highly rated by specialists in Portugal.
He created Benfica Lab in 2006 and has been managing it since then. Record takes his departure as a significant blow for the club, saying he played a big part in the club’s five titles in this period.
Record claims that Mendes hadn’t been officially linked to Benfica for a few weeks now, so Everton didn’t exactly take him out of the Lisbon club.
Regarding Silva’s decision to hire him, the outlet says that the manager thinks ‘it’s essential to strengthen the Toffees’ high-performance department’.
