As Matteo Darmian’s return to Italy continues to look like a matter of time, the Manchester United fullback is linked to a Serie A move once again.
This time, it’s Gazzetta Dello Sport who talks about the possibility of Inter Milan going after the 29-year-old in the next summer window.
The newspaper has an entire analysis of Inter Milan’s squad, explining those who should stay or leave at the end of the season.
Most of their defensive line is pretty much protected from an exit, but as the right-back position is currently being covered by Cedric Soares, who’s on loan from Southampton, they may have to go after a new player.
Matteo Darmian is the first and only name on Gazzetta’s mind, as they say we should keep ‘an eye’ on the possibility of the player joining the Nerazzurri in the summer.
That would see Cedric return to Southampton, something which has been reported repeatedly in Italy as a likely scenario.
Darmian has been linked to at least five Italian sides in the past year, but it seems they are struggling to take him from Old Trafford, even though he has only six appearances for the club this season.
