At the weekend, ABC Sevilla reported that Manchester United followed Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez at the Olympics and asked for information about him.
Tuesday’s edition of AS also claims Manchester United followed the 21-year-old closely in Paris, where he won gold.
The Spain U21 international’s preferred position is on the right side of defence and he can operate as a wing-back and a winger.
However, Sevilla manager García Pimienta has used him in the middle of the pitch this season, and he’s managed a goal from four games.
As well as Erik ten Hag’s side, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Juanlu Sánchez. His pace, physical and technical qualities have convinced the La Liga winners to follow him.
Online, AS add Manchester United will ‘continue to monitor’ the versatile player while in action for the La Liga side. Their title says the Premier League side are to ‘compete with’ Real Madrid for Juanlu Sánchez.
His deal lasts until 2026, and the report says it includes a €20m clause. This is certainly affordable for Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Sevilla are looking to negotiate a renewal with an improved release clause. If he were to sign an extension, AS state the player has the upper-hand when deciding his clause.
