With Manchester United often linked to a couple of Benfica players on a yearly basis, it seems the Red Devils now have an important mission planned to scout them.

Newspaper Record today writes that Erik ten Hag’s side will be watching the Eagles facing Sporting in a cup match on Thursday evening.

The outlet doesn’t seem to have any specific information about who Manchester United will be watching, but they just point out that the Red Devils don’t always have scouts in Portugal and will have an emissary in this specific match.

And even though they have a list of players who should get observed by many clubs, those who’ve been following the rumours involving the Old Trafford side know very well there are two Benfica starlets who are reportedly wanted by the Premier League club.

One of them is Antonio Silva, with reports this week claiming Manchester United know everything about the player and have been in touch with Gestifute for a potential move.

The other is João Neves, who has been linked to the Red Devils for a few months, with the Eagles even forced into releasing a statement saying there’s no agreement with Erik ten Hag’s side for a transfer.

Those are the main targets who have been reported as targets in the past, although the English club could obviously see some other talents.

Record points out that the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Ousmane Diomande and Gonçalo Inacio may also draw interest from scouts.
