On Wednesday, Marca reported Manchester United are considering signing Real Sociedad goalkeeper Álex Remiro in the summer window.

The Spaniard has kept 20 clean sheets and conceded 40 goals from 45 games, which includes 14 clean sheets and 32 goals conceded in 33 league games this season.

Manchester United’s interest in the 29-year-old is backed up by Mundo Deportivo, who add the Red Devils have started taking transfer steps.

Erik ten Hag’s side added both André Onana and Altay Bayındır to their squad this season, and the former has been the first-choice stopper,  but his performances have been far from convincing.

This seems to be why the Premier League side have shown interest in La Real’s stopper and have also asked about his termination clause. It’s claimed Manchester United have made contact with his agency, who in return have informed the La Liga side about their interest.

Real Sociedad are calm about the whole situation as they are aware the player is happy at the club and he’s also protected by a €70m release clause in his deal that lasts until 2027.

He’s fighting with Athletic goalkeeper Unai Simón for the Zamora Trophy, which is awarded by Marca to the stopper with the lowest goal-to-game ratio. The latter has conceded 31 from 33 games, which is one more than the Real Sociedad star.
