With Manchester City continuing their plan of identifying and signing the best young talent around the world, there’s going to be times when they come into conflict with other top clubs.
On Wednesday evening, Brazil’s Globo Esporte brought claims of City being in a transfer battle with Barcelona.
Globo have seen claims from elsewhere and been able to then confirm the reports themselves. Barcelona had made an offer for Cortiba youngster Yan Couto, only to be beaten by the Premier League club.
Manchester City are presented as making the ‘bigger offer’ and now it’s down to the 17 year old right back to agree terms on a move to the English club.
Manchester City are said to have offered €15m for the youngster, which far outweighs the €5m which came from Catalonia. Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen are also credited with an interest, however, Globo present this as one which City have won.
